Whattup Folks!

So I am here again from Mills College, Oakland, Califas and having the time of my life. Posting twice as much as I have in months. I think it's something about the energy of the Bay, and DEFINITELY something about this campus. I wish Madison made me feel so creative.

So. I'm on facebook yesterday trying to take a break from mixing one of my upcoming projects. I'm pretty bad at recording and mixing and so it's a hella frustrating process for me. And, at times it feels hella unfulfilling. Fortunately, I have some pretty dope facebook friends that keep me informed and inspired. But, being from the community that I am from, sometimes that inspiration comes from very dark places. I found out yesterday that another young person got shot in the streets of Seattle. I hate hearing about murders, anywhere. I think it hits me especially harder when its coming from my community. It makes me angry to read the way the news reports on these cases, but the worst part of the article is the bigoted comments below it.

This article made me think back to high school when gang and state violence seemed so much more prevalent to me. Madison got me numbed to the hood. Big ups to Milwaukee and Chicago for keeping me grounded. So, I got another track from high school for yall, it helped me deal with the reality of living in the hood.
